My Complete Hanya Ascension and Trace Material Farming Guide for Honkai: Star Rail
Optimize your Hanya ascension and trace farming with this Honkai: Star Rail guide covering Artifex materials, Netherworld Pass, and efficient routes.
In 2026, I finally sat down to build Hanya properly. She had been sitting in my roster since her release way back in Version 1.5, but I never gave her the attention she deserved. Now, with more team options than ever, her Skill Point recovery and Speed/Attack buff feel incredibly useful, especially next to a hungry DPS like Seele. I expected a painful grind. Honestly, I was wrong. Hanya is a 4-star Physical Harmony support, so her material demands are noticeably lighter than those of Argenti or Huohuo. Still, I had to run around a lot, spend Trailblaze Power wisely, and keep my Synthesizer busy before she reached her full potential.

🌟 Preparing for Hanya’s Ascension
The first thing I farmed was the Artifex item family. This includes Artifex's Module, Artifex's Cogwheel, and Artifex's Gyreheart. They form a natural upgrade chain, with Modules turning into Cogwheels, and Cogwheels turning into Gyrehearts at the Synthesizer. Hanya needs these materials throughout her entire progression, so I made sure to stock up early.
These drops come from Entranced Ingenium enemies. I found the best route in Stargazer Navalia, where mechanical creatures like the Illumination Dragonfish, Golden Cloud Toad, and Obedient Dracolion spawn in dependable clusters. The best part is that overworld enemies do not consume Trailblaze Power. I could make a lap, log out for a bit, and repeat the process whenever I wanted to kill some time.
The second key Ascension material is Netherworld Pass. This one drops from Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Perdition, a challenge added back in Version 1.5. I needed 50 Netherworld Pass in total to push Hanya to level 80, which meant challenging the Stagnant Shadow several times. It was not difficult, but it was repetitive. I paired those runs with Podcast objectives whenever possible to make the Trailblaze Power cost feel less painful.
For Credits, Hanya only needs 246,400 Credits for Ascension. That is much lower than the 308,000 Credits demanded by most 5-star characters. While that sounds manageable, I still had to remember that leveling her also costs a separate pile of Credits. I used Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures as my reliable Credit source, though events and story missions also helped top me off.
| Ascension Resource | What I Farmed |
|---|---|
| Artifex's Module / Cogwheel / Gyreheart | Entranced Ingenium enemies, especially in Stargazer Navalia |
| Netherworld Pass | Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Perdition |
| Credits | Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures and event rewards |
✨ Trace Materials for Hanya’s Abilities
After Ascension, I moved on to her Traces. This was the more demanding half of the project. Hanya still wants the Artifex family, which was convenient because I had accumulated a large supply already. Since I could farm those enemies endlessly without spending Trailblaze Power, they became my easiest filler resource while I waited for other activities to refresh.

Because Hanya follows the Path of Harmony, she also needs Harmonic Tune, Ancestral Hymn, and Stellaris Symphony. These three form another upgrade family, and they drop from Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Harmony on Jarilo-VI. I spent a huge amount of Trailblaze Power here. Lower-tier Harmonic Tunes became Ancestral Hymns, and Ancestral Hymns became Stellaris Symphonies at the Synthesizer. Converting upward saved me more time than I expected, especially when I ran short of the higher-quality versions.
At higher Trace levels, Hanya began asking for Regret of Infinite Ochema. This boss material drops from Phantylia, one of the weekly bosses. I only needed 12 Regret of Infinite Ochema in total, but the weekly limit stretched my patience. Even after unlocking the hardest difficulty, the material does not drop in huge quantities each clear. If you have been clearing weekly bosses consistently, you may already have a solid stockpile. If not, plan ahead and start early because those 12 copies can take a few weeks to gather naturally.
| Trace Resource | Primary Source |
|---|---|
| Artifex's Module / Cogwheel / Gyreheart | Entranced Ingenium enemies across the Xianzhou Luofu |
| Harmonic Tune / Ancestral Hymn / Stellaris Symphony | Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Harmony on Jarilo-VI |
| Regret of Infinite Ochema | Weekly boss Phantylia |
💡 How I Managed the Farm in 2026
My biggest tip is to separate free farming from Trailblaze Power farming. Overworld Artifex materials can be gathered whenever, so I did that during short breaks. Meanwhile, I reserved Trailblaze Power for Stagnant Shadow, Crimson Calyx, and weekly Phantylia clears. The Synthesizer was also essential. Instead of endlessly hunting for high-rarity Harmony materials, I crafted them from lower-tier pieces. This saved me dozens of runs over the course of the build.
Hanya ended up being easier to build than any of the 5-star supports I had raised before her. The Credit cost was lighter, the boss material total was reasonable, and the Artifex drops came naturally over time. She still has enough raw utility to justify the effort. Her Skill lets teammates recover Skill Points when they hit marked opponents, and her Ultimate boosts an ally’s SPD and ATK. For a team comp that burns through Skill Points constantly, that kind of support feels wonderful.
If you are planning to build Hanya in 2026, do not be intimidated. Start with the Artifex family, chip away at Netherworld Pass, and keep a steady rhythm on the Harmony Calyx. Before you know it, she will be ready to manage your Skill Point economy in style.
